What is SmartHospital
SmartHospital is a total hospital management software system with financial and human resource integration, first developed in 2004 by VNES. Any governmental and private general and specialised hospital / healthcare organisation of all size may effectively utilise SmartHospital for their daily operations.

SmartHospital is currently implemented at large-scaled hospital of Vietnam, such as DaNang Hospital, Hue Central Hospital. SmartHospital is also available for other small and mid-scaled hospitals.

- Saving time, cost and effort for entering and storing data.
- Assuring data consistency across departments, eliminating data redundancy.
- Easy to expand and add new features into the system thanks to object-oriented design.
- Preventing losses in liquidation and collection of patient expenses. All of expenses are explicitly integrated with patient during treament, so these expenses can be tracked in details.
- Effectively process patient data by adapting barcode technology. Eliminating deadlock at clinic departments.
- Full range of up-to-date reports for internal administration as well as governmental administrative agancies.
- World-wide data exchange via HL7 (Health Level 7).

Functions
SmartHospital v1.1 consists of nine modules including Patient Management, Patient Record Management, Expenses Management, Pharmacy Management, Medical Equipment Management, Para-clinic Management, Finance & Accouting, Reports, System Administration; and two utilities. Below are a few details of the functions in these modules. For more information, please download and study our software brochure.
 
Patient, Patient Record and Expenses Management
- Managing different types of patient with details, such as social insurance patient, child & infant, full-paid patient and other special types.
- Patient registration, out-patient treament, first-aid / emergency treament.
- Managing out-patient records, clinical records with special types (Ophthalmology, Neurology, Cardiology, etc.)
- In-patient management, inspection, drug dosing, taking / cancelling medicine / medical items.
- Management of operations, surgeries, blood transfusion. Tracking treament records, etc.
- Hospital admission / leave / transfer.
- Tracking of petient bed usage, changing of patient type, social insurance code.
- Managing expenses receipt and payment, patient expense liquidation.
- Managing different types of expense, automatic patient account balancing. Preventing expenses losses.
 
Para-clinic Management
- Managing different para-clinical master lists: haematology, immunology, biology, biochemistry, virology, X-ray, CT scanner, ultrasonic waves, etc.
- Flexible to build para-clinical parameters, measuring units of each para-clinic department.
- Communicating and collecting data and/or digital images from digital medical equipments.
- Managing and tracking para-clinical fee for different types of petient.
 
Pharmacy Management
- Managing master lists of medicine and medicine classification.
- Medicine receipt and issue from external provider.
- Tracking and controlling medicine flows inside hosital.
- Creating and recording medicine requests from other departments.
- Tracking medicine usage issues and consumption for patients.
- Reporting on medicine receipt / issue.
- Statistical reporting on medicine usage.
 
Medical Item / Equipment Management
- Managing master lists of item/equipment and their classification.
- Medicine receipt and issue from external provider: medical equipment companies, charity funds, etc.
- Tracking and controlling medical item/equipment flows inside hosital.
- Creating and recording medical item/equipment requests from other departments.
- Managing various tasks on medical items/equipments: fixxing, maintenance, insurance, etc. with break-down expenses.
- Reporting on medical item/equipment receipt/issue, and other equipment status reports.
